About These Data

Although public schools are funded mainly via state and local revenues, they also receive money through federal programs. Title I, which provides financial assistance to schools with a high percentage of students from low-income families, is one such program. Click your state on the map to see Title I dollars by county. We also have Title I amounts by school district.

Notes and Sources

Provides grants to help local educational agencies (LEAs) improve teaching and learning in high-poverty schools in particular for children failing, or most at-risk of failing, to meet challenging State academic achievement standards.
Data are available at the state and county levels and go back to 1993.
